What’s happening?

We’re making significant updates to our network and from 1 April 2021, our network will no longer be able to support your current sim card. This means you’ll need to upgrade your sim to continue using the O2 network after the 1 April 2021. We recommend doing this as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute issues. 

We’ll be mailing a new sim card to you before the end of January, so please ensure your details are up to date. If you’ve recently changed your address, please let us know by calling us for free on 202. You can also update your details by signing into My O2. 

How to swap your sim

Once you receive your new sim in the post, you’ll need to activate it. Text SWAP to 20220 from your original sim and follow the instructions provided.

Why do I need to swap my sim?

We’re upgrading our network and systems to provide the best possible experience for all our customers. Our original 2G sims are outdated and need to be replaced so you can take advantage of our improved network. 

Do I need to change my phone as well?

You don’t need to change your phone, just your sim card. Once you’ve swapped your sim, all your usual services will work as normal. 

What happens if I don’t do anything?

If you don’t swap your sim, you won’t be able to use your mobile on our network after 1 April 2021. As a result, your usual services will be disconnected on this date.
