Upgrading your sim

What’s happening?

We’re making significant updates to our network. Soon our network will no longer be able to support your current sim card. This means you’ll need to upgrade your sim to continue using the O2 network. We recommend doing this as soon as possible. You can either pick up a new sim from your local O2 store or call us on 202 and we'll post one to you.


How to swap your sim

Once you've got your new sim, you’ll need to activate it. You can do this by texting SWAP to 20220 from your original sim and following the instructions provided. 

If you need any help with swapping over to your new sim, please give us a call on 202.
 

Why do I need to swap my sim?

We’re upgrading our network and systems to provide the best possible experience for all our customers. Our original 2G sims are outdated and need to be replaced so you can take advantage of our improved network. 
 

Do I need to change my phone as well?

You don’t need to change your phone, just your sim card. Once you’ve swapped your sim, all your usual services will work as normal. 

What happens if I don’t do anything?

If you don’t swap your sim, you'll soon be unable to use your mobile on our network. As a result, your usual services will be disconnected.
