O2 Insure smartwatch insurance FAQs

O2 Insure cover is an optional extra you can add on when you buy your smartwatch if you’d like to protect it should something go wrong. You don’t have to take out cover if you don’t want it. But you may decide it’s worth thinking about if:

• You’re worried about the cost of replacing a lost, stolen or damaged device

• You’ve lost or broken a smartwatch before – and didn’t have cover before

• Your smartwatch matters a lot in your daily life and you’d need to get a quick repair or replacement if needed.

The manufacturer's warranty is great protection for your new smartwatch bought from O2. If your device develops a fault or a defect that isn't your fault, you may be covered if you’re still in the warranty period. Your documentation will explain more on this.

But a warranty won't cover accidental damage, loss or theft. That's why you might want to consider options to insure your smartwatch.

The replacement cost of your device will impact the monthly premium and the excess charge you’d need to pay if you make a successful claim.

The cost of a monthly Damage Cover premium starts at £2/month, while a Full Cover monthly premium starts at £4/month.

We’ll tell you which is the right price when you buy your smartwatch or speak to an agent.

An excess charge applies when you make a successful claim. The amount of the excess depends on your monthly premium.
