We put every second-hand phone through our five point check. They’ve all been security wiped and if you change your mind, you’ll get 14 days to return it just like a new phone.
What to expect from a Like New device
Like New devices are not brand new, but they’re not far off.
- There’s no cracks on the screen
- They might have superficial scratches on the back, sides and screen
- There will be no more than five deep scratches or chips up to 2mm in length
- All data has been security wiped
- And you'll get a 12 month warranty
They’re available online and over the phone.
Packaging and user guides
Like New phones are delivered in an O2 branded box. They don't come with the original packaging, a charger, headset, sim pin or user guide. If you need a user guide, you can find it on the manufacturer's website.

Like New - marginal VAT
The ‘like new’ device I am buying is being sold under a ‘VAT margin scheme’ – what’s a margin scheme?
Devices sold under ‘Like New sim-free’ are second- hand, which means VAT has been already declared to HMRC when those devices were originally sold. As a consequence, VAT is only due on the value added (the margin) as opposed to the full selling price.
I’m registered for VAT, can I recover VAT on ‘like New sim-free’ devices?
No. Devices sold under a margin scheme are sold free of VAT meaning there is no VAT to be charged to or recovered by the purchaser. Please note ‘Like New sim-free’ is a consumer (non-business) proposition. If you are a business customer please see our great deals at O2 Business shop.
