Depending on your device and location, you may be able to get 4G speeds. But don't worry if you can't, as you'll still be able to use 3G.

Important information

Important details about your sim only tariff

Each year, your Pay Monthly sim only tariff will be adjusted on your April bill by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in the preceding February. Find out more at www.o2.co.uk/prices.

Sim only tariffs and existing contracts

Before you can use an O2 sim in your existing phone, you may need to get your previous network or service provider to unlock it. You'll need to wait until the expiry of any existing minimum term you have agreed and a charge may be payable. 30 days' notice is required for cancellation. Sim only 12 month customers are subject to a minimum contract term of 12 months and are eligible for an upgrade after nine months.

Inclusive minutes and texts

The inclusive minutes and texts in your sim only tariff can be used to call any UK network or landline. What are my additional charges?

Inclusive minutes can be used for calls to standard UK landlines (starting 01, 02 and 03) and all UK network mobiles. It excludes calls to special numbers. See http://www.o2.co.uk/help/everything-else/special-numbers.

Your inclusive text allowance can be used for UK text messaging. Picture messages will be charged at 40p per message.

Using your Pay Monthly sim

The pack you will receive contains a nano sim as well as a sim adaptor pack. If your device needs either a standard or a micro sim, you'll need to use the correct adaptor before you can insert it.

What is mobile internet data?

Whenever you use the internet on your phone, you're using data.

Whether it's browsing the web, sending an email, or watching a TV programme. Downloading and using apps will also take a slice out of your data allowance.

Watching videos on YouTube and streaming music tend to use quite a bit of data, but using Twitter or Facebook and browsing the internet in general uses a lot less.

What does my allowance mean?

Here's a bit of a breakdown to show you what you can do with your data allowance.

*Remember – this is not inclusive. You can't send 100,000 emails and watch 12 YouTube videos when you've got a 100MB Data allowance. But you can mix it up. For example, by only watching 6 videos you could then still send 50,000 emails… Make sense?

No data?

If you go over your allowance, we'll send you a message to let you know and your connection speed will slow down.

Without any data you can still use the internet on your mobile with our Web Daily service, but you won't be able to use all your phone's features, like visual voicemail on iPhone or BlackBerry email. With Web Daily you can use up to 50MB a day without ever being charged more than £1 a day.

Keep track of your allowance

The best way of tracking how much data you've used is by going to your My O2 account. This will show you how many megabytes (MB) you have left. You can also add on a data Bolt On if you want to increase your data usage.

And remember, Wi-Fi does not count towards your data allowance. So switch to Wi-Fi whenever you can to save on your data usage. Why not see if there is an O2 Wi-Fi hotspot near you.

1. UK voice calls

Applies to calls made in the UK to standard UK landlines and all UK network mobiles. Minute minimum charges apply

2. Voicemail

Calls to UK voicemail are included in your bundled minutes, then 35p per minute thereafter. Except on the unlimited minute tariffs when UK voicemail is free.

3. Calls to customer services

Calls from a non-O2 mobile phone are charged at your providers' rates.

4. UK text message

Tariffs include unlimited texts. Except for the 50 and 100 minute tariffs which include 250 and 500 texts respectively - Text messages are charged at 15p per message thereafter.

5. International and roaming charges

6. UK browsing

UK data usage only. Data used while outside of the UK is not included. Applies if a data bundle Bolt On is not chosen.

7. O2 Directory Enquiries

Calls to 118402 are £1 per minute. Calls to all other 118 numbers are charged at £5 per minute
