Leading independent network benchmarking organization, Global Wireless Solutions (GWS), have awarded O2, London’s Most Reliable Network.
GWS conducted widespread testing in December 2021 which showed our network to be more reliable than EE, Vodafone, and Three.

Between 2018 and 2021 GWS have awarded O2 their OneScore for Most Reliable Network following their nationwide performance testing.
Their complex testing methodology compares the main network operators across the UK in extensive drive testing across the country. They also work with YouGov and Censuswide to conduct customer research and then combined these results to get a final performance rating.

In 2021, we were awarded Network of the Year at the Mobile Industry Awards, for going above and beyond to provide our customers with a top-class network experience, celebrating innovation, customer care, and technical excellence.

We also won Best Network Performance at the Mobile News Awards 2020 and 2019. The award is judged using independent data about our network, compared with Vodafone, EE and Three. It takes the top scores for network speed, coverage and reliability in the top 10 UK cities last year, as measured by Global Wireless Solutions (GWS), Yboo and RootMetrics. These scores are combined to give an average weighting across all the measures. We were ahead in both the GWS and Yboo tables.

We’re Europe’s admired telecommunications company
We were ranked the most admired telecommunications company in Europe by Fortune 2019 and 2018. And we climbed a spot to the second most admired telecommunications company in the world. Executives believe that Telefonica is the best operator in Europe in terms of innovation, use of assets, equipment management and management quality. And we scored highly for our quality of products, services, social responsibility, financial soundness and long-term investment value.
We won best recycling service in 2017
We’ve recycled over 2 million devices and paid out over £150 million to customers, through O2 Recycle. So it’s no surprise that we were named the best recycling service by Mobile Industry Awards in 2017. We run the most integrated trade-in scheme in Europe by a mobile network operator. Our customers can check how much their device is worth in My O2, so it’s easy for them to make a decision. Judges said that “O2 has taken the basics of recycling and executed brilliantly and consistently across a large complex business.”
