Our Blueprint

Environmental groups

We've set an ambitious target to be recognised as a UK leader in sustainable business. We can't achieve this alone – which is why we've joined forces with the following organisations:

Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future works with public and private sector organisations to help create a green, fair and prosperous world.

They act as a critical friend, providing feedback and advice on our strategy, direction and performance. Their remit is wide and deep: they work across all areas of the business, with a range of people, to ensure sustainability is embedded at the core of everything we do.

Forum for the Future is our primary partner and trusted advisor on our journey towards sustainability leadership.

Carbon Trust

The Carbon Trust is a not-for-profit company that aims to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy. Our relationship with the Carbon Trust goes back to 2005.

In 2007, we joined their Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme, the UK's only independent award recognising achievements in reducing energy use. Our efforts to cut our carbon footprint and reduce CO2 year on year were recognised in 2009, when we achieved The Carbon Trust Standard.

Global Action Plan

Global Action Plan (GAP) is an independent charity that engages people in practical solutions to environmental and social problems. They launched in the UK in 1993.

Their EcoTeams programme helps households and individuals make improvements across a wide range of activities including energy use, transport, water, waste and shopping. We've integrated this approach within O2, encouraging our teams to look again at the way they consume energy outside of work.

We also work with a number of youth and community organisations – check out our People pages for more info .
