How to sign in to My O2

Help and support

The quickest and easiest way to stay on top of things like your bills and allowances is to sign in to your O2 account. To do this, you’ll first need to create a Virgin Media O2 ID – if you don’t have one already. It’s our new way to sign in to your O2 space online and takes no time at all – learn more about creating a Virgin Media O2 ID.

Once you have your ID, you can sign in online or download the app.

How do you sign in to your O2 account?

To sign in, visit My O2 or open the app. Enter your username – this is usually your email address. Next, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Don’t yet have a Virgin Media O2 ID? No problem – enter your My O2 email address and you’ll be able to create a new ID from there. Not yet got an account at all? All it takes is an email address to get started.

If you can’t remember which email address is linked to your Virgin Media O2 ID, please check any mailbox you have access to. We send a confirmation email when you create your ID, so you’ll hopefully find it in one of those.

Still not able to remember your email address? On the sign in screen, click Forgot your email address and follow the steps to get access to your account.

Your Virgin Media O2 ID offers different methods to authenticate your account. If you’re using a password and you forget what it is, you’ll be able to use another way to sign in to your account – simply click Verify another way when asked for your password.

Once you can access your account again, you’ll then be able to set a new password. Or you can set up a passkey instead, so you won’t need to remember a password in future. To do this, go to Account settings, then Security settings

You can get another account recovery code by signing in with your Virgin Media O2 ID – and choosing Account settings > Security settings. From here, scroll down to Other actions and tap Account recovery code

On this page, you’ll soon find the option to Get new recovery code. When you do this, be sure to keep your code safe somewhere. And remember – we’ll never contact you to ask for it. It is only for using online if you need to regain access to your account.

We have more advice on scam calls and messages if you need it.

Check your spam/ junk folder to see if your verification email has gone there by mistake. If it’s been a few minutes and you still haven’t got it, click Resend. It’s the same process if you opt to get your code by text message.

Still not got it? It can be worth double checking the email address or phone number you entered to make sure there are no mistakes or typos.

If you’re still having difficulties signing in to your O2 account, we have more help guides for customers trying to register or sign in with a Virgin Media O2 ID.

You can also call us if you need support. From your O2 phone, dial 202 (Pay Monthly) or 4445 (Pay As You Go) – it’s free to do and it’ll help us identify you quicker. Can’t call from an O2 phone? You can still contact us – although call charges may apply.

You’ll find these options under Account settings, then Security settings

If you’re a named person on someone else’s O2 account, you’ll still be able to manage this account online. You’ll first need a Virgin Media O2 ID of your own to sign in.

Absolutely. Part of having a Virgin Media O2 ID is being able to link your two accounts if you have both.
