Everything we do at O2 has economic and environmental consequences. But our activities also have a social impact – and we want to make that impact a positive one.

So, while we want to bring the benefits of mobile communications and the internet to as many people as possible, we're aware that there are associated privacy risks and the possibility of social exclusion. So our child protection and accessibility policies are regularly monitored and updated.

And while we're keen to provide best value, we always take social and environmental factors into account when working with suppliers.

We also want to give something back to the wider community that we're part of – and to encourage young people. We work with a number of children's charities and nurture youth programmes at grass roots level. was launched as we are all so aware of the problems young people face trying to get a foot in the door in a career opportunity. We partnered with Bauer Media (owner of popular media brands like Grazia, Heat, FHM, Q, Kiss FM etc.) to create which is an online resource offering useful tips, advice and guidance, and loads of work-skills experiences and work placement opportunities for young people.
