If you're travelling in Europe then you can take advantage of our great rate for internet use with O2 Travel.

With O2 Travel, for the days that you use data in Europe, you’ll only be charged £1.99 for 100MB data. This will automatically end at midnight UK time or when you reach your data allowance.

If you use up your 100MB allowance, and want more data in the same day, you can text MORETRAVEL to 21300, to get another 100MB for £1.99.

Using Voicemail when abroad

Voicemail 901 is available to all O2 customers and is ready to go on all new O2 phones. Before you travel, you’ll need to make sure you know your pin, so if you have not set this up or its been reset see these instructions for setting up your voicemail pin.

Then, just call 901 like you do at home. This will work in all countries where you can use your mobile. Depending on which country you're in, you'll either go straight to your messages or you'll go to your voicemail greeting. If it's your voicemail greeting, press * and enter your PIN.

If you've forgotten your PIN, you'll need to contact us and ask for it to be reset. You'll need to change your PIN before you can listen to your messages.

To change it, call 901, press *, then 4, and follow the prompts. You can find out more information on setting up your personal greeting and how to check your messages in our help article.

Charges for Voicemail when abroad

It costs the same as a call back to the UK to retrieve a voicemail abroad.

There's no charge for receiving a message, if you don’t retrieve it.

Accidental roaming and how to prevent it

Accidental roaming might occur if you're in an area close to national borders and your phone picks up the network across the border. If this happens, you may be charged as though you were roaming in the country across the border.

You can prevent this by setting your handset to do a manual network selection as opposed to an automatic network selection and select the O2 network. This way if you lose the O2 network, your handset won't try to connect you to a different network.
