Two ways to get money for your old phone

When you upgrade to the new iPhone, consider O2 Recycle or Pass It On. Both offer great opportunities for you, your old phone and our planet.

Important advice before you Recycle or Pass It On

  • Be sure to back up everything on your phone that is important to you: contacts, calendar, photos, music, etc. Listen to your voicemails too.
  • Once you've backed up, delete any personal data from your old phone. Make sure you remove your sim or memory card too.

O2 Recycle and get up to £260 cash for your old phone

O2 Recycle

Get cash for your old phone and help the environment.

Who's it for?

Anyone who wants to recycle their old phone and get up to £260 cash to put towards the new iPhone. And if you spot your phone at a higher price on Mazuma or Envirofone, we'll match the price within seven days.

Not only do you get a great deal, you'll also be helping young people. Any money that O2 makes from O2 Recycle is donated towards our Think Big initiative to help turn around the lives of young people.

What do you need to do?

Check out how much your old phone is worth. The quote is valid for up to 14 days. You can find out now and post your old phone after you get your new iPhone.

Or you can wait and recycle your old phone in store. The cash can go straight towards the cost of your new iPhone, onto your bill or credited to your bank account.

Pass It On and get £25 each for you and a friend or family member

Pass it on

Give your phone a second life and hand it down to a friend or family member when you Pass It On. Recommend O2 to them and we'll give each of you a £25 bill credit to say 'thank you'. We think they'll be thanking you, too.

Who's it for?

Anyone taking a new phone on Pay Monthly, who has a friend or family member that wants their old phone.

What do you need to do?

  • You need to successfully sign up to a new phone on Pay Monthly.
  • You give your old phone to a friend or family member; they can be an existing O2 customer or joining O2.
  • They successfully sign up for a new 12 month Simplicity tariff.
  • You go to o2.co.uk/passiton between 28 October 2011 and 31 January 2012 to let us know both you and your friend or family member's mobile number.
  • We credit each account with a £25 bill credit. A text to you and your friend or family member will confirm the bill credit is on its way in about 28 days.

The rules for Pass It On

  • Both you and your friend or family member must still be connected on the O2 network 14 days after the upgrade and new connection date.
  • Pass It On is limited to 1 per customer.
