A digital conference helps people work better together
BGL Group understands the importance of internal conferences for its leadership team. They bring the business together and encourage new ideas to foster innovation.
The company planned a conference in New York for 270 senior management and, recognising that much of their own business is digital, decided to make the conference entirely digital.
O2 enabled BGL to provide an iPad to each of the 270 delegates before they travelled. O2 configured the iPads especially for the conference, with a bespoke app providing travel information such as flight details, map to the hotel and personal tours. For the conference itself the app provided a message from the CEO, videos to watch before the presentations, and an agenda with all the accompanying materials.
Although initially worried that the all-digital format would be impersonal BGL found it was the opposite. People found new ways to connect quickly to each other and spend time with the people they wanted to meet. Creating a real sense of community and purpose.
