Pay As You Go - The Classic Tariff terms and conditions (“Terms”), effective from 21st February 2017

  1. Classic Pay As You Go ("the Tariff") is available to Pay As You Go customers.
  2. These Terms and Conditions set out the key terms on which the specific Tariff is offered. They apply in addition to general Pay As You Go Service Terms and Pay As You Go Tariff Terms (see Clause 9 of these Terms).
  3. The Tariff is a pay-as-you-go modelled tariff. Customers must purchase credit ("Top Ups") the balance of which will reduce based on usage. For the avoidance of doubt, there are no inclusive or free allowances included in the Tariff.  
  4. Standard rates for the Tariff are:
    1. 5p a minute for UK calls to UK landlines and mobiles. All calls will be charged by the minute and will be rounded up to the nearest minute;
    2. 5p per standard SMS text within UK. SMS to multiple recipients or MMS are charged at 35p per message;
    3. 5p per MB within UK with no data cap.   Your data use will be calculated every time a data session ends or every 20MB whichever happens first. There is a minimum charge of 1p per data session, however short. The charge for each data session will be rounded up to the nearest whole penny. 
    4. 5p per call for voicemail within UK;
    5. Calls to Customer Service are charged at 5p per call. See o2.co.uk/contactus for more information. 
    6. Unless a Bolt On or promotional rates have been offered and applied, any calls made from the UK to an international destination, including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man mobiles and landlines, will be charged at standard Pay As You Go international rates. International calls are charged by the minute and will be rounded up to the nearest minute. Each call charge is then rounded up to the next whole penny.     8. You can review your remaining Top Up balance by visiting o2.co.uk/myo2 or alternatively you can dial *#10# or by calling 4444 which is free from your O2 mobile. 
    1. Data used on this Tariff can be used for 4G and non-4G data.
    2. Data used is calculated when you’ve used 20MB or when a data session ends, whichever happens first. 
    Data sessions can end for a number of reasons, including but not limited to:
    • switching off your device;
    • switching off mobile data on your device;
    • by O2 if a data session has remained open and inactive for 6 hours;
    • by your device or apps running on your device (e.g. if your emails are set to update every few minutes). The number and frequency of data sessions that can be ended (and therefore charged) depends on which handset, Apps and settings you have.

    By switching to the Tariff customers accept that they will lose Non-Transferable Bolt Ons which, we may not be able to restore even if you later leave the Tariff.
     
    1. Existing O2 Pay As You Go customers may switch to other Pay As You Go tariffs, see o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go/ for details. To switch to the other Pay As You Go tariff, you can visit o2.co.uk/myo2 or call free on 2202. 
    2. Customers who choose to switch tariffs (either to or from the Tariff) accept that they will lose any airtime allowances, special rates or benefit provided with their old tariff and they may not be able to switch back to their old tariff at a later date. The switch will be effective from the next renewal date. 
    3. This Tariff is subject to availability. O2 reserves the right to remove, vary or amend any element of these Terms. If we amend any elements of the Terms to your disadvantage we will notify you. Notice will be provided by text message or by placing a note at the top of these Terms and Conditions Changes will be effective immediately upon our notifying you.
