How to upgrade early

Depending on what kind of contract you are on, we have two ways to upgrade early.

  1. If you are a Pay Monthly consumer customer, you can upgrade early
  2. If you are a Business customer, you can Fast Track Upgrade

Pay Monthly customers can upgrade early

Who's it for?

Pay Monthly consumer customers only

What is it?

All O2 Pay Monthly customers are eligible to upgrade between 1 and 6 months early.

What do you need to do?

  1. Text UPGRADE to 21602. You can also check My O2 online and the My O2 app
  2. Then upgrade online. Or visit an O2 shop.

The rules

You can upgrade early to iPhone 4S as long as:

  • You're a Pay Monthly consumer customer
  • We have iPhone 4S in stock
  • You take iPhone on a new 12, 18 or 24 month Pay Monthly contract

Business customers can Fast Track Upgrade

Who's it for?

Business customers only

What is it?

Instead of paying off your remaining contract in full, you can pay a one-off charge based on how many full months you have left on your contract. Then we'll chip in 20% of that amount and cover the VAT too.

What do you need to do?

  1. Go to an O2 shop and let your sales advisor know that you want to Fast Track Upgrade. You can also call the Business Customer Services upgrade team or text UPGRADE to 21602 to check your eligibility.

The rules for Fast Track Upgrade

You can Fast Track Upgrade to iPhone 4S straight away as long as:

  • You're a Business customer
  • We have iPhone 4S in stock
  • You're at least three months into your current contract
  • You take iPhone 4S on a new 12 or 24 month contract
  • You pay the Fast Track Upgrade charge
  • You agree that you won't be able to change your mind and won't be able to go back to your old contract
