Transferring Data

Transfer your contacts and music.

Transferring contacts (Mac users)

Your Mac includes iSync software which will synchronise your mobile contacts with Address Book when you connect your existing mobile phone to your Mac, using Bluetooth or a data cable. You may need to download an iSync plug in from your mobile handset manufacturer. A list of compatible devices and known plug ins is available from Apple [link opens in a new window]

Transferring contacts (PC users)

iPhone will easily sync with your contacts in Outlook or Outlook Express. It is advisable that you ensure Outlook is the primary source of your contacts. You can either type them into Outlook on your PC or you can use the software and data cable provided with your current mobile phone to export them. If you have misplaced the PC suite CD-ROM, these are available for download or purchase from the manufacturer's website and data cables are available from the O2 shop

Additional information about synchronising contacts and music is available from Apple website [link opens in a new window]

Transferring music

Music from your iTunes library will automatically be transferred. If your existing music is in another format, for example WMA (Windows Media), you will need to convert it into a file format that iTunes accepts in order to play it on your iPhone or iTunes.

iTunes supports most types of music files. For more information on exactly which formats are supported read the online documentation provided by Apple [link opens in a new window]
