O2 coverage

No other mobile network covers more of the UK population. With over 6,000 base stations currently installed, O2 already has 99 percent of the UK population and 86 percent of the UK landmass covered.


When you get to the UK you can set your mobile phone to the O2 network by following these simple steps. Please note that O2 may appear as BT CELLNET on some mobile phones.

Scroll and select 'Set Up' Select 'Settings'
Select 'Network' Scroll and select 'Phone Settings'
Scroll and select 'Configuration' Scroll and select 'Network Selection'                          
Scroll to 'Auto Network' and remove tick                Scroll and select 'Manual'                         
Scroll and select 'Change Network'  
Handset will now scan for networks, when this is completed highlight the network of your choice and press ‘Select’.

Motorola                 

 Sony Ericsson
Scroll and select 'Network Selection' Select 'Connectivity'
Scroll and select 'Available Networks' Scroll and select 'GSM Networks'           
           
Handset will now scan for networks, when this is completed highlight the network of your choice and press ‘Select’.

Samsung

Scroll and select 'Network Selection' Select 'Menu'
Select ‘Settings’ Select 'Settings' and press 'OK'
Select ‘Network services’ Select 'Network' and press 'OK'
Select ‘Network selection’ Select 'Network select' and press 'OK'
Highlight ‘Manual’ and select Select 'Manual' and press 'OK'
Handset will now scan for networks, when this is completed highlight the network of your choice and press ‘Select’.

O2 X1/2/3/4 XM Ice etc                    

 O2 XDA1/2/2i,2’s, Exec, Mini S etc
From the main menu Go into the phone function (just like you would when making a call)
Scroll to 'Settings' and select Select 'Tools'
Highlight 'Network' and select Select 'Options'
Highlight 'Network Selection' and select  Select 'Network' tab
Highlight either 'Automatic' or 'Manual' and select                      Select ‘Automatic’ or 'Manual' from the drop down box
Handset will now scan for networks, when this is completed highlight the network of your choice and press ‘Select’.

Can I still access my Voicemail 901?

Your Voicemail 901 and customer care numbers will work in the UK the same as they do at home.


How to make a call on the O2 Network

To call home insert "+" and the country code before all your stored numbers so you don’t have to manually change them every time you use them. Dial "+" or 00 + country code + area code + telephone number. e.g. to call Ireland dial +353 + area code + telephone number. To call a UK number, simply dial the area code + telephone number e.g. 01923 + telephone number
