Be in the know and make your life easier with Voicemail 901.
You can store up to 40 messages or minutes of messages in your mailbox. Each stored message can be up to four minutes long. If you reach your storage limit we’ll let you know.
Messages can be stored for up to 30 days if you are a Pay Monthly customer and up to 17 days if you are a Pay & Go customer. We’ll let you know before your stored messages are deleted.
There are three ways we can let you know when you receive a new message. You can opt to receive a text message, phone call or we can display the on-screen Voicemail symbol (
) on your phone.
You can choose the method that suits you best and change it any time by dialing 901, keying * for greetings and mailbox settings followed by 4 and following the prompts.
You can call the person who’s left you a message back without exiting Voicemail. Just key 5 during or after their message and we’ll put you through.
Calls are charged at your standard rate. Your number won’t be displayed if you’ve chosen to withhold it. If you didn’t have a chance to withhold it, you’ll be given the option to do this before we connect the call.
Having a PIN ensures that you’re the only person who can access your messages. You’ll be asked to set up your PIN the first time you access Voicemail or whenever it’s been reset to the default.
You can change your PIN at any time by:
Your PIN also allows you to access your messages from any touchtone phone by:
If you’re unable to respond to your messages for a while (for example, if you’re on holiday), you can let people know by recording a temporary greeting.

If you don’t want to set this up for every message, you can still find out the time, date and caller number of specific messages by keying 8 during or after the message.

Forward and reply to your messages
You can forward messages or reply directly to your caller’s mailbox by keying 7 during or after you’ve listened to them. You’ll be asked to attach a note so the person you’re sending the message to knows who it’s from.
You can forward messages to more than one person at a time by setting up a distribution list. You can have up to nine distribution lists with up to 20 numbers in each.
To create a distribution list:
Messages can be sent to any O2 customer and you’ll be charged your standard tariff rate for the time you spend in Voicemail.
