Microsoft Push

You can now get real time access* to your company inbox, calendar, contacts and tasks with Microsoft Direct Push Email solution on our award winning Xda range and other Windows Mobile® devices.

No more dialling up or sending/receiving manually, the email finds you wherever you are* on your mobile device at the same time as it hits your inbox at work.

Even better, often there’s no additional costs for new servers or IT equipment**. If your company has Microsoft Exchange 2003 then you’ve already got the IT infrastructure and capability with no further investment.

Why have it?

  • Get your email wherever you are* as soon as it arrives in your inbox without having to dial up or request it
  • Open attachments using mobile versions of Microsoft Word, Excel® and PowerPoint®. You can view and amend exactly like you do on your desktop
  • Keep up to date with your calendar and contacts - over the air synchronisation means you always have the latest view of where you are meant to be and quick access to your colleagues numbers and email addresses.
  • It’s easy to use. Anyone who uses a desktop or laptop will recognise the familiar look and feel of Microsoft Windows®.
  • It’s flexible. You can customise your settings so that you can either receive mail as soon as it comes in or perhaps less often at certain times, useful if you don’t want to be disturbed outside working hours.
  • Make the most of your existing IT investment in Microsoft Exchange. If you’re using 2003 then you don’t need to pay out for extra IT equipment, you’re already compatible.

What do I need?

  • An O2 device with Windows Mobile®. Check out our award winning Xda range or the Palm Treo 750
  • An O2 data tariff, see below for our recommended tariffs for use with Microsoft Direct Push Email
  • Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2. You will need to enable wireless services on the server – here is a detailed deployment guide showing each step to get up and running

If you are using a previous version of Microsoft Exchange (such as 2000) then speak to your Microsoft Account Manager or IT partner to get an upgrade.

How much does it cost?

There are only two elements of cost involved**

  1. A subscription to an O2 data tariff
